I don’t know about you guys, but it seems Youtube has been updated with a new UI? Now theres a option in changing to specific resolutions expanding the screen and a new icon for fullscreen. Weird tat they didn’t annouce this (not nthat i heard of it =/) Anyone else notice the change?
Edit : better look of the new UI

Been following up on Halo :Reach (like the fanboy i am) and it seemsGI has some inf on the new game. So off I went in search of the screens. And viola. Not exactly HQ but it’ll do.
For those of you lazy to read thru the screens, hit the read more link for a brief summary provided by Wolverfrog from B.Net
Read moreAfter a long time of clamouring for it, Google’s Chrome browser finally received plugins, in the form of extensions. Maybe now it’ll be the mos popular browser =D Currently I’m supporting the translate, gmail and chromed bird extensions. What are you guys sporting?
Ok I know this is OLD news. but yea. I’m really looking forward to how much more can MS push down the price of the 360. Being on the same pricepoint as the PS3 Slim just doesn’t make sense to me, especially since the PS3 boast more features out of the box as compared to the 360. I’ll be even more excited if I find out it’s gonna be as cheap as the wii pffft as if that’ll ever happen.

Sooooo. I was poking around on Google Wave, When I Saw that I have….
Thats right. 17 invites this time round. The rules are the same as the last time, which is none at all. All you have to do is email me at joeltng[at]gmail[dot]com, requesting for google wave and you’ll receive it, no strings attached.
On a side note, I wonder why I keep typing “Chrome” instead of “Wave” for this post. =/ wierd.

Alas, It was just not meant to be. This afternoon’s attempt at booting Chrome from my 2GB thumbdrive was an utter failure. My Laptop just REFUSED to boot it. On the other hand, I got my desktop to boot it, but it was not without issues. The screen resolution was dead wrong, and the response form the UI was sluggish. But in all honesty I don’t need it to boot from my PC TT_TT ah well. need t wait for the next build i guess (or it might be my laptop acting up =/)
So finally we get news of IW doing something about the cheating going on in MW2. But really it’s all too late. I mean you boast of a system that can prevent cheating, but only ban them after such a long period of time? Dedicated servers can dish out bans and stop the cheaters almost instantly.
Anyone who still is considering MW2, please don’t buy the PC ver. Do the PC community a favour and boycott or get a console ver.

This could be very interesting news for 360 owners. Imagine playing demos and watching videos from E3 or any other gaming coinvention, all from the comfort of your living room. I for one is down for this. I just hoppe If it does come, it’ll come to people outside the US as well.

I posted previously about a build of Chrome OS that can be installed onto your USB thumbdrive, but to my horror, it seems it needed a whopping 4GB of space, while all the USB thumbdrives i have had a maximum capacity of 2GB. Well fear not, the same guy has downsized it to fit into a…..1GB thumbdrive! Yippie~ I’m currently downloading it as I type this and i’ll my impressions of it when I’ve get aorund to using it.

Saw Angie’s blog post which made me wonder why i never did do this =/, so here I am posting about my Laptop’s desktop. My PC at home has almost the exact same setup (desktop and taskbar-wise) with the exception of a few gadgets missing/extra. So yea they’re almost clones of each other lol. So let’s start shall we?
I think one of the first things that’ll come to your mind when looking at the first pic, is how my desktop is devoid of any links, shortcuts or files. One of the main reasons in keeping it so is because a cluttered desktop just make startups slower. So for those of you complaining of slow startups, try uncluttering your desktops and see whether it helps. Of course, having it sooo bare makes it seem nicer, neater, and allows you to fully appreciate the wallpaper =D.
So anyway my current theme has a wallpaper of a Saber Fanart drawn by a fellow singaporean, xephonia, entitled King of Knights, and it is really a work of art. So the theme also sports custom colours for the desktop and Aero interface (though the Aero Colours are hard to see due to it being similar to the desktop background). Sound scheme is a slightly modified version of the Windows 7 Nanami Madobe theme’s sound theme. If you guys like what u see and want it, the theme can be downloaded here[WINDOWS 7 ONLY].
2nd pic would be of my Taskbar. As of Windows 7, we can now pin programs to it, making it easier to find and start programs that we normally use. But unless u know what the icons mean, heres a brief run through of what are on my taskbar.
My web browser of choice. What’s more to say about this minimalistic browser from internet giants, Google? Blazingly fast with features like the omni-box and even bookmark sync. It even caters to Otakus/Anime Lovers by having themes like Miku, K-ON! and even Good Smile Company
My Music player. Although Windows Media Player plays almost anything now with the awesome codec from Shark007, FLAC playback support on it still is a drag, Hence I’m now using Winamp for all my musical needs.
My Default IM client. Just because most of my peers and family use it. I use it for video calls too.
Another IM client. Though I use it for the mass chat sessions and the occasional karaoke sessions.
Default Mail handler. I can read my mail faster and easier than opening my web browser. Not to mention the other features like Windows live Calender and it being a RSS feed reader. Kinda wished gmail worked better on it though. Might just switch to thunderbird and lightning though =/

“Steam is a digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer and communications platform developed by Valve Corporation. “
So seeing as to how i play games developed by Valve (L4D2 and TF2), It’s no surprise that i have this. I use it to lanuch other games as well.
It’s lightweight and it downloads fast. It’s no surprise why it’s my torrent client.
I use this to take notes/to-do/what-to-do lists. You can see it in action near the top left hand corner of my desktop screen-shot.
But then, you might ask “where in the god forsaken world is the bleeping taskbar?”. Well my taskbar is hidden to prevent it from taking up my precious desktop space. So enter picture 3, where you see the taskbar unhidden and in all it’s glory. I experimented with placing it on the top at first, but I found it to be restricting as it might block the maximize/minimize/close buttons for the windows. So now it’s permanently at the left side of the screen.
Ok thats it for my tour of my desktop, gotta go back to work (seeing how killer my Common Test timetable is @_@)
